The gamewatch 22.2
Another massive online multiplayer following the similar 'elite' trading, battling and adventuring blueprint has been slowly gathering interest through its online advertising over recent months and now seems ready to set sail for 2007.The stage for this new game is Earth and the space ships have been traded for clippers and galleons. Travel the seven seas with real time rivals building their own fleets to snap up the best trade routes and pirates waiting to board, steal and ransom your ships. Fans of 'Trade winds' and 'Trade Winds 2' will love this newcommer developed by IGG. The graphics knock the previous titles for six and competes heavily with any other online multiplayer by being free. You will need a good graphis card and plenty of disc space but if you love life on the ocean wave then this is the game for you. Follow the link to the Voyage Century home page. IGG are also developing MythWar another free massive online multiplayer this time taking the blueprint to the fantasy realm, links to which can be found on the Voyage Century homepage.

Now many of you may well be aware that it is now illegal in the US to bet on a 'gambling or casino' website. But ' skill ' gaming is still legal to bet on in a majority of US States. Skill gaming differs from playing 'games of chance' because, unlike the casino sites, your chances of winning depend totaly on your own (and your opponents) abilities as you control your gaming actions (unless there's a power cut or the dog, cat, hamster, wife or children chews through your monitor lead). You can play games head to head, or, if you follow the upcoming link, on a massive multi player tournament. We've already highlighted the main flash skill game networks on our first Gamewatch 22 page, but there is this one more network that has a claim to being 'a worlds very first' because... instead of the usual 'flash based puzzle and action games' they offer head to head and multiplayer challenges on full scale '64bit and above video game platforms' - just like the ones you'd find on your playstation, nintendo or xbox gaming plarforms.
If you've ever played a game like 'Tiger Woods PGA', scored two eagles and a hole in one and wished the prize fund at the end was for real, well, now it can be....er...well almost.
OK so you can't win a million dollars ( yet ), but the prize fund does often sail quite close to, and often above the thousand dollar mark on Skillgrounds tournaments. Games included on the Skillground network (the first in the world of it's kind for this gaming genre, based and hosted on secure ssl servers from Dublin in the Irish Republic) are the acclaimed UTour Golf -a highly popular realistic golfing tournament, War Path and Close Quarter Combat - two high quality 'shoot -em ups, KungFu- a high quality 'beat - em up' and LA Street Racing - a realistic high speed racing game, with the world famous TOCA Race Driver 3 soon to be launched online. You can even form your own multiplayer 'teams' to challenge other teams in the network. Skillground is not only the worlds first for this type of tournament but is also currently the worlds best. Give it a try and see why - the first five games are free.
Another European based skill gaming site worth browsing is Game Duel. They may not have as many games as Real Arcade or some of the other networks but they do have some more unique versions of many of the worlds favourites. If you enjoy playing pool or darts then Game Duel is a must. You can play for free or challenge your friends for cash or fun. The membership list has been exploding in recent months in spite the smaller games catologue - maybe it's because of the friendly atmosphere and high quality of the site. You can build your cash bank without spending a penny by winning the daily free games and if you happen to spot 'Mar 15' on the user list then you'll be quids in as he is rubbish (..he's our boss). Have a peek at Game Duel here...
More unique games and sites are coming soon ... in the meantime if there's a particular console title your looking for you could always look for it in our 'physical' Tradedoubler MyShop. Every penny and cent we make from commisions goes straight back into finding and supporting some of the best artistic talents in the world..
